Steffie Nelson

Los Angeles-based writer and editor Steffie Nelson explores the places where art, culture, nature and spirit intersect. Her writing has appeared in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Alta Journal, The World of Interiors, and many others. She is the editor of the essay collection Slouching Towards Los Angeles: Living and Writing by Joan Didion’s Light (Rare Bird) and coauthor of Judson: Innovation in Stained Glass (Angel City Press). Her 2022 Red Canary profile of Lauren Bon and Metabolic Studio received the Sigma Delta Chi award for feature reporting from the Society of Professional Journalists, and her 2024 Red Canary profile of the artist Lita Albuquerque received an honorable mention from the LA Press Club. www.steffienelson.com

Phuong-Cac Nguyen

PC Nguyen is a design strategist, journalist and the founder of Totem, a strategic foresight consultancy that specializes in branding and qualitative market research through the lens of empathy and compassion. PC has been published in the Los Angeles Times, Conde Nast Traveler, among other publications. Her documentary on Brazilian lowrider car culture, South American Cho-Low, was featured on PBS and at various independent film festivals.

Rosie O'Donnell

Rosie O'Donnell is an American comedian, actress, talk show host, and producer, known for her work in stand-up comedy, television, and Broadway. She gained prominence in the 1990s with her own daytime talk show, "The Rosie O'Donnell Show," and has since appeared in various films and television series. O'Donnell is also recognized for her charitable work and activism, particularly around LGBTQ+ rights.

Rachel Resnick

Rachel Resnick is a Los Angeles Times bestseller and Yale grad. She holds an MFA from Vermont College. Rachel's also a creative entrepreneur and transformational coach who’s run her own personal storytelling business since 2006. Her most recent book is Love Junkie: A Memoir. This piece is an excerpt from a new book-in-progress — a hybrid form of memoir, personal growth and writing inspiration. Rachel lives in Twentynine Palms, California.

Josué Rivas

Josué Rivas (Mexican and Otomi) is an Indigenous Futurist, creative director, visual storyteller and educator working at the intersection of art, journalism and social justice. His work aims to challenge the mainstream narrative about Indigenous peoples, build awareness about issues affecting Native communities across Turtle Island, and be a visual messenger for those in the shadows of our society. He is a 2020 Catchlight Leadership Fellow, Magnum Foundation Photography and Social Justice Fellow, founder of the StandingStrongProject, co-founder of NativesPhotograph and winner of the 2018 FotoEvidence Book Award with World Press Photo. His work has appeared in National Geographic, The Guardian, The New York Times, Apple and Nike N7 among others. He is available for photo assignments, film projects and exhibitions. Josué is based in Portland, OR.

Suzanne Roberts

Suzanne Roberts is the author of a collection of lyrical essays, Animal Bodies: On Death, Desire, and Other Difficulties (2022),​ a travel memoir in essays Bad Tourist: Misadventures in Love and Travel (2020), and the National Outdoor Book Award-winning memoir Almost Somewhere: Twenty-Eight Days on the John Muir Trail (2012), as well as four books of poems. Named "The Next Great Travel Writer" by National Geographic's Traveler, Suzanne's work has been listed as notable in Best American Essays and included in The Best Women's Travel Writing. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, CNN, Creative Nonfiction, Brevity, The Rumpus, Hippocampus, and elsewhere. She holds a doctorate in literature and the environment from the University of Nevada-Reno and teaches in the low residency MFA program in creative writing at UNR-Tahoe.

Alexandra Romero

Alexandra Romero was born and raised in Southern California where she was introduced to many different cultures. Since she was a kid, she has always been interested in learning where people come from, their identities and their stories. She believes that Journalism starts with conversations with strangers and becoming influenced by their stories so that they change our understandings of people and communities. Alexandra graduated from Whittier College with a BA in Multimedia Journalism and is attending USC for her MS in Digital Media.
